International projects

YMCA Bolton has been involved with international opportunities for our young people. In the past teams from YMCA Bolton travelled to Romania and Bulgaria, in partnership with RV Projects.

During these RV projects, young people take part in a large volunteering project, for example the young people in Bulgaria renovated a special school. They also took part in some training while over there, to help them to become more employable once they return to the UK.

YMCA Bolton’s young people have also represent England, in democracy and diversity, in Strasbourg in Eastern France. A group of ten young people from across YMCA Bolton’s projects, went over to learn about democracy and diversity in Europe and put across the realities in the UK.

Last June, a group of young people from across England went with YMCA Bolton to Lyon in France, to take part in a project around immigration and refugees, along with young people from France, Bulgaria and Kosovo.

UP Coming in 2016

This June, YMCA Bolton is sending 10 young people and staff to Lyon to engage in a European project on immigration. YMCA Bolton’s group will represent England along with young people from Czechia, Bulgaria, Kosovo and France.

The aim of the project is to change their perspective of immigration in Europe, to inform and learn the prospectus of young people from the other countries.

The project will take place 6th-13th June in the YMCA Lyon.

YMCA Bolton will send young people to Strasbourg this year too!
